La Grange City Council Meeting Minutes April 13th and April 27th, 2026
LA GRANGE, MO- *Key notes from the 2 most recently approved City of LaGrange City Council meetings held on April 13, 2026 and April 27, 2026:
April 13, 2026 meeting:
Mark Starr with Republic Services was present.
Mayor Corbin announced Eagles Nest (from Edina) will be setting up their food truck on upcoming dates.
The council voted to post Bill/Ordinance 2026-685 (amending the FY 2025–2026 annual budget) and voted to post Bill/Ordinance 2026-686 (adopting the FY 2026–2027 budget).
The council accepted a street committee recommendation to close part of an alley in Marlow’s Addition between 5th and 6th Street, south of Buchanan Street.
A resolution related to an amendment to the municipal waste services agreement would be drafted for review/approval at a later meeting.
The council also voted to post Bill/Ordinance 2026-687 regarding revisions to personnel policies and procedures in the employee handbook.
Informational items listed in the minutes included an illegal slot machine update, a MoDOT resurfacing project schedule on Route C in Lewis County, and casino revenue.
The council voted to go into closed session under 610.021(2) for real estate and adjourned at 6:33 p.m.
April 27, 2026 meeting:
During public comments, the Burbridge family spoke regarding their mother’s cemetery monument, stating they were not satisfied with the stone’s location. City Sexton Brad Davis reviewed how that portion of Marks Cemetery is plotted and stated the stone is in the correct location. The minutes note Mayor Corbin wanted to further investigate changing the way that portion of Marks Cemetery is plotted, and that the City of LaGrange will move Gloria Burbridge’s stone to a headstone position and there will no longer be footstone graves.
Mayor Corbin announced the Ford Fusion sold at McAfee Auction Service.
The council approved the April 21, 2026 election results.
The council then took action on multiple ordinances.
The council approved a resolution authorizing an amendment to the municipal waste services agreement with Allied Waste Services of North America, LLC d/b/a Republic Services of Quincy, and approved a resolution authorizing an agreement with Josh and Rhylee Warning for a grant of access to property with an option to purchase agreement.
Cemetery matters were discussed extensively, including Marks Cemetery layout, proposed changes to Ordinance #325, proposed rule and pricing changes, monument placement request information, and discussion of a proposed new cemetery location. The minutes note this topic may take several meetings to work through, and that ordinance and rule/pricing changes are expected to be proposed in future meetings.
The minutes also note City Administrator Roach will contact Klingner & Associates for an estimate/proposal related to survey costs and dirt work for a future cemetery project.
