Lewistown April 2026 Minutes


LEWISTOWN,MO– *Key notes from the most recently approved Lewistown City Council meeting held on April 6, 2026

Mayor Sharpe called the meeting to order with Aldermen Lay, O’Neal, and Childress present at the start of the meeting. Alderman Handy was present but arrived late. Treasurer Lori Washburn, Clerk Betsy Kempe, and Troy TenEyck were also present. Collector Rachel McKenzie was absent.

Troy advised the council that a water tower inspection will be needed, and the council voted to approve the inspection.

The council also approved Scott Harrison’s $3,200 bid to install piers for the shelter house.

Mayor Sharpe reported the city has received around $19,000 in donations so far for the pickleball/basketball court. The council reviewed two bids from Scott Harrison and voted to approve the $26,400 bid for an 88 x 60 ft concrete court. The motion also included that the city will pay the additional cost for the concrete court if no other donations are received (around $7,400).
