Lewistown May 2026 Minutes
LEWISTOWN, MO- *Key notes from the Lewistown City Council meeting held on May 4, 2026.
Clerk Betsy Kempe administered the oath of office to Mayor Sharpe, who then administered the oaths of office to Alderman Zach O’Neal (First/North Ward), Alderman Aaron Lay (Second/South Ward), and Alderman Tony Handy (Third/South Ward).
Collector Rachel McKenzie advised the council of those who still owe taxes for 2024 and 2025.
Troy Ten Eyck discussed issues related to the sewer lift station. The council voted to hire Four Points to put a riser in at the lift station, and also approved placing concrete blocks as a barrier for the lift station.
Troy also reported one lagoon blower is bad and needs replaced, with the cost listed at around $6,500. The council voted to purchase one new lagoon blower.
The council discussed the regular meeting start time and voted to change the monthly meeting time to 6:00 p.m. going forward (instead of 7:00 p.m.).
The council also directed that nuisance letters be sent to Cory Favors and the old Peacock place. The meeting then adjourned.
