R4 Fire – May 2026 Meeting Minutes
EWING, MO- *Key notes from the R-4 Fire Protection District meeting held on May 5, 2026.
The board met at 7:00 p.m. at Station #1 in Ewing with Tom Stark, Kent Richmond, Bryan Jennings, Treasurer Cassidee Garner, and Dylan Waterman present. Riley Pryor attended by Zoom.
In old business, the board reported Truck 414’s leak has been fixed and the truck is back at Station #1.
Truck 417 was reported as having a taillight out, and Truck 410 was reported as having a brake light out.
Building maintenance items discussed included needing spray foam on vents to keep birds out of buildings and an air compressor belt slipping at Station #1 that needs to be replaced.
In new business, Kent Richmond was sworn in as a board member.
The board reviewed truck replacement quotes and voted to purchase the Freightliner (Freightliner bid $107,042; Western Star bid $131,093).
The board also voted for Cassidee Garner to serve as the new treasurer. The minutes state Cassidee Garner and Kent Richmond will be added to the checking account, and Gretchen Keith and David Keith will be removed as authorized signers.
During officer reports, Dylan Waterman introduced Henry Gunsauls as the new salesman for Banner, and both Dylan Waterman and Riley Pryor reported a strong turnout for the recent countywide fire department training.
In questions/comments, Kent Richmond asked about past ISO inspections and Dylan Waterman reported they have passed.
No closed session was held.
