3/23/2026 – *Key notes from the most recently approved Lewis County Commission meeting on March 9, 2026

The commission approved the minutes from the March 2, 2026 meeting. 

Road & Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough reported that crews had been doing routine road maintenance work, including grooming and equipment work, along with handling an emergency road issue over the weekend that required patching a hole, with additional work planned. 

Bridge-related work was also noted, including beams being delivered and set. Commissioner Murphy signed Progress Report #24 for $11,998.33 from MoDOT to pay Howe Company, with the total bill listed as $14,073.80. 

A fuel bid opening was scheduled for March 23, 2026 at 9:30 a.m.

In other business, Deputy Sly submitted a leave balance report and Recorder Parrish submitted her February report. 

The minutes noted personnel items at the sheriff’s office, including that Joshua Tooey no longer works there and that Matt Pearl received a letter of termination. 

Shannon Howe sent a letter discussing RFQ information and steps for the annex remodel, and the commission called Sheriff Parrish to ask questions about personnel.
