May 13, 2024
Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on May 6, 2024, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Deanne Whiston present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order:
Minutes: Commissioner Whiston made a motion to approve minutes for May 6, 2024. Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Whiston made a motion to approve timecards from April 28th- May 11th, Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Bills: Commissioner Whiston motioned to approve the payments of warrants #31965-31976 from General Revenue, warrants #22200-22208 from Road & Bridge, warrants # from the Assessment, warrants #20950-20956 from L.E.O.F, and warrants #1167 from Co Farm. Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Larry Janes and Secretary Colclough were present. Built road up #575

Other Business: Clerk Sapp submitted the sales tax report for April
Howe & company submitted the May 2024 Orange Street bridge update
Missouri Department of Natural Resources determined the replacement of co rd. #429 bridge #12200071 over the Wyaconda River that no historic properties will be affected

Landscaping bids opened at 10:00. Only 1 bid was received by T&D Lawn & Landscaping Services, LLC for $ 7,650.00.
Commissioner Whiston made a motion to accept the $7650.00 bid from T&D Lawn & Landscaping Services, LLC for the courthouse landscaping. Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed. Approved 3-0.
Andrea Davis with Family Heritage was in to discuss offering the county employees supplemental insurance- Cancer, Heart, and Accidental- locked in rates- money back if not used- a direct agent- Clerk Sapp will set a date for Andrea to meet with employees to inform them and see if there is interest
Blake Rodrick with Mid- America Port Commission was in to discuss that the Mid-America Port Commission exist to increase economic development in rural and to underserved area in Iowa, Illinois, and Missouri through improved river infrastructure and increase use of the inland waterways
Kendal Dishman with Global Life was in to discuss offering the county employees supplemental insurance- there is a discount card- will have a direct agent- Clerk Sapp set a date for Kendal to meet with employees to inform them and see if there is interest
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, May 20, 2024, by Commissioner Whiston, Commissioner Fleer seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed, passed 3-0.
