October 6, 2025
Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on September 29, 2025, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Criag Redmon present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called the meeting to order:
Minutes: Commissioner Fleer made a motion to approve minutes for September 29, 2025. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payment of warrants #203692-203693 from General fund, warrants #203694-203699 from Road & Bridge fund, warrants #203700 from Assessment fund, and warrant # from LEOF. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payment by EFTP of warrants #4254- 4270 from General fund, warrants #4271-4273 from Road & Bridge fund, warrants #4274-4275 from Assessment fund, and warrant #4276-4292 from LEOF fund. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Bills: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payments of warrants #33034-33036 from General Revenue, warrants #22796-22799 from Road & Bridge, warrants #5996-5997 from the Assessment, warrants #21470-21471 from L.E.O.F, and warrants # from Co Farm. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0. The checks were signed October 7th
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough were present.
Canton golf course road was fixed
Fixed ditch on #546 in front of Jackie Shires’ mom’s house
Graded #374 fixed hill and wash boards
Replaced tubes on #208 and #264
Hauling chips to chip shed during the first part of last week
Less than 10 road tickets left in Maywood and Durham
Billy Joe is taking the skid steer to work on spots he noticed while delivering rock
The road and bridge crew cut weeds and cleaned up around the old nursing home
Roy was in the hospital Tuesday and Wednesday
The 2004 Black truck is at Robert’s It needs an idler pully and coil pack costing $350.00
Supervisor Frese met with Chris Hill about road #359 regarding water flooding their field
Dan Mittleburg billed the county $600.00 for cutting down a tree over the county road- the commission agreed to pay $300.00 and take it from line item #201-000-660046
Other Business: Treasurer Roberson wrote public agency checks #2682 & 2683 for tax sale surplus and #2684 & 2685 for school fine monies
Recorder Parrish submitted her September report
Deputy Sly submitted the leave balance report
Clerk Sapp submitted her September Election fee report
Clerk Sapp Submitted her September Clerk fee report
Colt Jennings met with the commission to discuss Western Lewis County Fire Protection District using the old nursing home as training building- he said their insurance would cover any accidents- the commission had Clerk Sapp ask Ivan Schraeder his opinion- Ivan said to have them provide instruction to what the training will be such as search and rescue or recovery- they should agree to nothing that will generate a spark or fire- if agreed to their insurance should be made payable to Lewis County, a specific time, and date should be on the coverage and don’t run over the time
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Tuesday, October 14, 2025, by Commissioner Murphy, Commissioner Whiston seconded; Commissioner Fleer agreed, Approved 3-0.
