Commission met pursuant to order of adjournment on September 8, 2025, with Presiding Commissioner Wayne Murphy Jr., Associate Commissioners Travis Fleer, and Craig Redmon present. When and where the following proceedings were had to wit: Commissioner Murphy called to order
This Weeks Shoutout Goes To Murphy’s Gas Station In Monticello, Mo. Stop In For A Hot Lunch Special Monday-Thursday And Fill Up More Than Just Your Gas Tank
Minutes: Commissioner Fleer made a motion to approve minutes for August 8, 2025. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Payroll: Commissioner Fleer made a motion to approve timecards from August 1st- September 14th, Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.

Bills: Commissioner Fleer motioned to approve the payments of warrants #32990-33001 from General Revenue, warrants #22777-22783 from Road & Bridge, warrants #5986-5987 from the Assessment, warrants #21446-21454 from L.E.O.F, and warrants # from Co Farm. Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Road & Bridge: Road and Bridge Supervisor Drew Frese and Secretary Colclough were present.
Graded-297,298,561,588& 597 by David Keith & 403, 428, 404, & 412 by Drew Frese
Hill on #224 is being marked and located for ditch work- skimming
Commission will go look at Stacy Meyer’s bank and discuss it further later
2005 Ford with old dump bed keeps dying- will take to a shop to have repaired
Commissioner Fleer spoke with Johnnie and will get the 4 used 2017 grader tires back and sold them to Joe Howe who will pay the county $400.00 for them- the county will also receive a credit for the disposal fee
Cut trees around Ahearn’s road #291
Working on ditches as the commission suggested they be done now
Approximately 10 rock tickets left to finish the county rock part
The commission wants 1⁄2 clean chips to be ordered to restock the shed
Road and Bridge employee Drew Frese has accepted the position as Road and Bridge supervisor effective 9-15-2025 for a 90-day probation period with a starting wage of $22.00 and a letter of hire signed by the commission
Meetings: Com/ Clerk meeting in Knox County September 9 Clerk Sapp attended
Other Business: The commission received an invoice from Maywood Lawn Service
Broker bids were put in the paper to be opened September 29th
Ralph Martin submitted the IDA minutes
August Sales Tax Report for August was submitted by Clerk Sapp
Treasurer Roberson submitted the August bank reconciliation report
The commission looked over the MAC trust overview for the year 2026
The commission approved the cop camera grant for the sheriff’s office Commissioner Fler motioned Commissioner Redmon seconded; Commissioner Murphy agreed. Approved 3-0.
Collector Lindsey Lay spoke with Commission regarding Doris Nelson’s tax bill from 2022 Lindsey stated that the property has not shown up on the tax sales list and she is not sure how it was skipped- She spoke with other collectors asking how to deal with the bill now that the trailer was no longer there- the other collectors told her to have the commission have the tax bill abated- Commissioner Fleer stated the trailer was still on the property and the commission wanted to have Assessor Tammy Logsdon look into the bill- Collector Lindsey Lay returned to give the commission an update on Doris Neisen’s tax bill- Lindsey spoke with Assessor Tammy Logsdon- Tammy is going to do a court order to abate Doris Neisen’s due to it being added on the Marty Neisen tax bill
Ashley McCarry with Missouri Farmer’s Care was in to discuss with the commission the Agri Ready County application to designate Lewis County as an Agri Ready county- the application was filled out and the board will decide- those in attendance were Brian Nichols, Brian and Michelle Munzlinger, Greg Sharpe, Leslie Durst, Angie Hamlin, Brenda Schreck, and Kaylee Bozart
Adjourn: Motion to adjourn to Monday, September 22, 2025, by Commissioner Fleer, Commissioner Murphy seconded; Commissioner Redmon agreed, Approved 3-0.
