The Lewis County Scoop to Broadcast Highland Tournament

It is with great pride that I will announce this year. We will make an attempt to broadcast the Highland Basketball Tournament from January 6th to the 11th. We will host an online audio only broadcast on Facebook and YouTube to highlight the athletes of Highland and Canton as they battle to win the annual tournament.

This is the 53rd tournament as it has become a staple of the tri-state area. This year will see a similar bracket as last years competitors return for another chance to win it all. Last years tournament saw the Keokuk Lady Chief defeat Palmyra to win its first Highland Tournament. While the Palmyra Panthers would beat Canton to win their 12th Highland Tournament.

December 18th the Lewis Count C-1 School District would release the brackets on their Facebook.

The Broadcast’s

At the scoop we will be focusing on the Highland and Canton games. However do the schedule conflict we are unable to broadcast Wednesday the 8th and Thursday the 9th. However we will still broadcast opening nights Monday and Tuesday, and closing night Friday and Saturday. Remington Yates will provide the Play by Play commentary. Color commentary will see a little rotation as Jason Vaughn will help with the commentary during the boy games. While the Girls commentary is being discussed.

Due to not being able to broadcast the whole tournament we will be leaving the advertising open to local businesses.
