City of La Belle – March 4th, 2026 Special Open Session Minutes
LA BELLE, MO- *Key notes from the most recently approved special open session City of LaBelle Board of Aldermen meeting held on March 4, 2026:
The LaBelle Board of Aldermen met in special open session at City Hall with Mayor Zachary Sharpe presiding. Aldermen Sam Wilson, Dee Raleigh, Roy Lewis, and Kyle Clay were present, with Linda Goodson absent.
Under unfinished business, the board discussed beginning a list of derelict properties to work on.
The sewer project update noted the force main is being installed and sludge removal is expected to take place this month. The water project update included coordinating meter locations alongside the sidewalk grant work, and that the Mission system is up for the new SCADA system.
The board also noted a meeting with an attorney regarding the Alan Spicknall fence.
For the sidewalk project, the board discussed needing an easement from Z. Schieferdecker and a plan to bore a hydrant for him in exchange for the easement. The board voted to begin that process.
For the bike shop, the minutes state the attorney reviewed the contract and the city can move forward with signing.
Updates were also given on the new city shed, including electrical work being completed and interior work continuing, with water and sewer installation next.
In new business, the minutes note Wendy is working on the budget. A special meeting will be held March 23 to open bids for the solid waste contract.
In the mayor’s report, Mayor Sharpe noted the city switched drug pools from Applicant Information to Quincy Medical Group.
Alderman Sam Wilson raised safety concerns about mowing at the lagoons, and the city is looking into ideas and quotes for equipment to make it less dangerous.
The mayor also brought up thoughts on selling the old La Belle Lake. The meeting adjourned at 8:15 p.m.
