City of Ewing Febraury 2026 Minutes
EWING, MO- *Key notes from the most recently approved City of Ewing meeting held on February 9, 2026.
In old business, the board discussed the upcoming change in sewer billing. The minutes state Shirley has been sending letters to delinquent accounts explaining the new billing process and what will happen when the Water Department takes over billing.
The Water Department will shut off water if an account is not paid in full, and Shirley reported she has collected several delinquent accounts since sending the letters.
The board also noted Aaron will be in to set up park access at the office for the security system.
The road at 15 Lakeview Drive is still being worked on, but the minutes note it is waiting on warmer weather. The city’s signs are completed and Dean will get them put up.
Christmas decorations were discussed, including a quote from Display Sales of $8,953.00 to replace all 14 tree-style decorations.
The board decided to wait on purchasing new decorations and is checking into replacement lights and garland to redo them in-house.
Memorial planning was also discussed, including a stone memorial idea and a bench memorial in the park for Alan, and the minutes note the decision to purchase two 15-foot bleacher sections with three rows for the pickleball court.
Spray field operations were reported as working well. For sewer pumps, the minutes state no replacement pumps have been ordered.
Street tube issues were updated. The minutes state MoDOT’s Aaron Burbridge checked the Rt. C and Clow Street tube and said it is not collapsed but needs cleaned out, and that MoDOT will take care of it.
The tube by the car wash has not yet been checked. The pull-behind sprayer still has not been ordered, with prices being checked.
Flags were also discussed. The minutes state new flags were purchased and replaced, but the pole by Senior Housing is broken and will not stay up, and a new pole will be ordered.
The new flags were purchased from Menards. The minutes also note Little Ronnie’s is no longer open and the city is still checking into how to obtain a flag from Jefferson City.
An audit update was included, with the minutes stating Shirley has spoken with Gillium & Assoc. in Kirksville and they are working on the city’s audit.
In new business, the minutes state Shirley put $27,000.00 in new money into the sewer account and wrote two new CDs at United State Bank.
Each CD is for $50,000.00 with a three-month term.
The board also discussed upcoming training: Missouri Rural Water Association has a one-day seminar for new board members on March 3 in Branson, with Jeff and Dean planning to attend and Brandon checking his schedule.
Missouri City Clerks and Finance Officers Association has a seminar for new city clerks March 9–11 in Columbia, and the minutes state Shirley and Susie will attend.
Because both Shirley and Susie will be gone when the next meeting would normally occur, the board changed the next meeting date to Tuesday, March 17. The meeting then adjourned.
