City of Ewing March 2026 Minutes


EWING, MO- *Key notes from the most recently approved City of Ewing meeting held on March 10, 2026.

In old business, the board discussed the upcoming sewer billing transition to the Water Department.

The minutes state Shirley is working with Amy to help the changeover go smoothly. The board also discussed sewer accounts with credit balances and voted to refund any sewer credit balance back to the customer.

Other updates included security system park access setup, with the minutes noting Aaron is expected to set it up and Susie will call again. 

The road at 15 Lakeview Drive was described as breaking up badly, and the minutes state Dean will order asphalt so it is ready and will contact Tom Willis for an estimate on what needs done.

Street and drainage items were discussed. The minutes state MoDOT cleaned out the tube at Rt. C and Clow Street and it is working well. The tube near Rt. 6 and W. Bryan Street (below the car wash) has not been worked on yet, and Susie will contact MoDOT again. T

he minutes also note Mr. Tucker wants a tube extended on his corner on the other side of Rt. C and Clow, and Dean will check into what needs done. 

Aldermen plan to drive streets to identify which ones need work and report back at the next meeting, and the city plans to contact Willis Bros to see if they are still doing asphalt work. 

A complaint was also noted about signs placed by Hester Church at Main and Gilead obstructing the view, and the city plans to check into it and speak with the church about moving them, with the minutes noting the signs are advertising an Easter egg hunt on March 21 and will be down after that.

Equipment and facility items included checking on the pull-behind sprayer and discussing the tractor’s age and trade timing, with the minutes stating the city will wait until next year to discuss trading it in because it does not have many hours. 

The pole by Senior Housing was reported as broken and the city plans to order a replacement pole like the one in the park.

The minutes state the city needs to stir Lagoon #1 and order bugs for the lagoon, and Shirley will check into ordering them. The minutes also note Mission Tech Support contacted Shirley about Pump #4 being offline and offered to deduct the monthly charge. 

Shirley also noted Roger had said a contract would be prepared, and she will check whether it is ready, with the minutes stating it needs to be completed before billing switches to the Water Department.

Other items discussed included mowing bids (with the minutes stating last year’s mowing contract was for 2025 and 2026), ideas for recognizing America’s 250th anniversary, and the Farmers Market schedule, with the minutes stating it will be held the first and third Saturday in May through September at the North Shelter until noon.
