Highland Softball given #1 Seed and Dominates the Eagles
Thursday October 10th was big day for the Highland Cougars Softball team as they get the #1 seed in the Class 2 District 5 softball tournament. They will start with the bye. #4 Mark Twain takes on #5 Clark County. #2 Monroe City takes on #7 Scotland County. #3 South Shelby willd take on #6 Palmyra. TOurnament starts on October 16th @4:00 PM.
The Highland Cougars look to roll into the conference with as much momentum as the bye can get you a littl cold. A 22-0 win over the Knox County Eagles will do that.
A 3 inning matchup would see Haleigh Winter hit 3 homeruns and drove in 6. Her 19 carreer homeruns and 105 RBI’s surpass the records set by Becca Scott in 2018.
It would also see Bailie Crist go 4 for 4, with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI’s. Breaking the Highland single season double record at 16. Addy Abell would go 3 for 3. Abby Lay would strike out 8 and surpassed 300 career strikeouts.
Highland closes the season October 14th @ Scotland County.
