La Grange City Council Meeting Minutes May 11th and May 26th, 2026

Mayor Corbin reported that he, City Administrator John Roach, and Deputy City Clerk Lezlie Meyer were working with Brad Davis regarding cemetery updates. The next meeting was scheduled for Tuesday, May 26, due to the Memorial Day holiday.

Under the city administrator’s report, the council held the first and second readings of Ordinance/Bill 2026-688, which transfers certain streets, alleys, and tracts within the City of LaGrange. The council then voted to pass the ordinance by roll call vote, with all six councilmembers voting yes.

The council also voted to advertise for bids for the 2026 Street Project.

The council approved terminating the intergovernmental agreement with the City of Canton, and City Attorney Jeff Curl was directed to send a drafted letter.

Cemetery information and ordinance updates were discussed. Roach reported that he had met with Jeff Curl, Brad Davis, Mayor Corbin, and Lezlie Meyer to review and rework the current ordinance. A proposal from Klingner & Associates for the new cemetery was also discussed, with Curl expected to draft a resolution for an agreement at a future meeting to coincide with the updated ordinance.

The meeting then reached the sine die portion. Mayor Corbin administered the oath of office to newly elected councilmembers James Dade for the North Ward, Don Zahn for the Middle Ward, and Robyn Cottrell for the South Ward. With no further business, the meeting adjourned at 6:06 p.m.

May 26 meeting — started at 5:30 p.m. and adjourned at 5:38 p.m.

The council approved the consent agenda, including the May 26 agenda, May 11 meeting minutes, and bills. There were no questions for the city engineer report. The mayor’s report, city clerk’s report, and city administrator’s report had no new items listed. There was no old or unfinished business and no new business. The meeting adjourned at 5:38 p.m.
